Selling basics
What do you buy?
Cars, trucks, SUVs, classic cars, motorcycles, boats and watercraft, RVs and trailers. Running or not. See cash for trucks and cash for motorcycles for details on those.
Do you buy motorcycles?
Yes. Street bikes, cruisers, sport bikes, dual-sports and dirt bikes, running or not. See cash for motorcycles.
What kinds of trucks do you buy?
All kinds: pickups, diesels, work and fleet trucks, box trucks, and lifted or modified trucks. See cash for trucks.
Where do you buy vehicles?
Pasadena, Eagle Rock, Glendale, Burbank, Los Angeles, Santa Clarita, Calabasas, Westlake Village, Long Beach, Torrance, Anaheim and Riverside. If you're nearby but not on that list, call and ask.
How do you decide what to offer?
Year, make, model, condition, title status and the current market. For vehicles that won't go back on the road, parts and metal value. The full explanation is in how we figure out what your vehicle is worth.
Can my offer change at pickup?
We confirm the offer when we see the vehicle. If it matches what you told us and what your photos showed, there's no reason for it to change. It can change if there's a problem we didn't know about. Clear photos and an honest description are the best way to avoid that.
Do I have to accept the offer?
No. There's no obligation. If the number doesn't work for you, say no thanks.
Do I need to clean the vehicle first?
No. Just remove your personal items, toll tag and garage remote.
Payment and pickup
How do you pay?
In cash, at pickup, before the vehicle leaves.
How fast can you pick up?
Often the same day you accept our offer. Most sellers are paid within 24 to 48 hours of their first call.
Is towing free?
Yes, including vehicles that don't run.
What if the car is in a garage or has flat tires?
Tell us when you call so we bring the right equipment. More tips in selling a non-running or damaged vehicle.
What are your hours?
Every day, 8am to 9pm, including Sundays.
Titles and paperwork
Do I need a title to sell?
A title in your name is the simplest way to sell. No title? We can work with you. Many title problems can be fixed with the right DMV paperwork. Tell us your situation and we'll walk you through what can be done. See selling with a title problem.
I lost my title. Can I still sell?
Often, yes. If the vehicle is in your name in California, the DMV has a form for a missing title (REG 227). Read our title guide for how it works.
I still owe money on the loan. Can I sell?
The lender holds the title until the loan is paid off, so the loan has to be paid off as part of the sale. Call us with the payoff amount and lender name and we'll talk through your options.
The owner passed away. Can the family sell the car?
Usually, but the vehicle has to be transferred properly first. California has a no-probate process for some estates (DMV form REG 5) that has a waiting period and value limits. Our title guide covers the basics.
Do you buy vehicles with out-of-state titles?
Call us with the state and whose name is on the title, and we'll tell you what's needed.
What do I do with the license plates?
Standard California plates normally stay with the vehicle. If you have personalized plates you want to keep, tell us before pickup.
What do I need to do after the sale?
File a Notice of Transfer and Release of Liability with the DMV within 5 calendar days. It protects you from tickets and tolls on the vehicle after the sale. Then cancel your insurance. Details in how selling to Blue Line works.
Photos and language
What photos should I send?
All four sides, the dashboard with the key on, the VIN, the interior, close-ups of any damage, under the hood, and the front of the title or registration if you have it. The full checklist is in our selling guide.
